About Key West Sandbar Tours
A curated index of 1,000+ tours from 200+ local Key West operators. You browse here. You book direct through FareHarbor. No ticket booths, no markups, no booking fees from us.
Why we built this
Walk around Key West and you'll see ticket booths and hotel concierges pushing tours. What you don't see is the markup — 20% to 40% on top of the operator's real rate. Same boat, same captain, higher price.
We built this to cut that layer out.
Capt. Dane has run boats here for years. He saw captains working hard while middlemen took the cut. So we put up a clean directory of real local operators — sandbar trips, sunset sails, snorkel runs, fishing charters, dolphin watching, jet ski tours, parasailing, kayak and SUP, private charters, eco tours, Dry Tortugas, and party boats.
Average shared tour runs about $110. Private charters cost more. Either way, you see the actual options before you hand over your card.
How it works
1. Browse the tours. Compare by category, group size, price, or trip type across 200+ local operators.
2. Check Availability. Every listing pulls live calendars through FareHarbor. What you see is what's actually open.
3. Book direct with the operator. Your reservation, payment, confirmation, and cancellation policies all come from the tour company — not from us.
Who runs this
Capt. Dane Karcher is the local waterman side. He still captains trips, shoots drone and video content, and knows every sandbar and channel. If an operator doesn't run a tight ship, Dane removes them from the list.
Jason Dudney handles the systems and tech. He builds the site, keeps listings synced with FareHarbor so pricing and availability stay accurate, and makes sure the whole thing works on a phone.
Small operation by design. No call centers, no corporate layer.
What we DON'T do
- We don't operate boats.
- We don't take money from you.
- We don't add booking fees or pad prices.
- We don't do fake urgency or "only 3 spots left" nonsense.
We earn through the FareHarbor Key West affiliate program — about 20%, paid by the operator out of their existing marketing budget. You never see it. You never pay it. The price at our site is the price at the dock.
