The company
The first schooner was called Danger, and renaming a boat is bad luck, so the company kept the name when it grew. It has been locally owned since 1993 and sails 364 days a year from the Opal Key marina at the foot of Front Street, with a second base at the Perry on Stock Island.
The fleet is four wooden schooners, each USCG-certified, plus a six-person center-console powerboat. Day trips cap at 20 guests even though the boats carry more, which is the reason the sail-snorkel-kayak day feels semi-private.

The signature day
The schooner sails west into the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, anchors on the flats, and the kayaks come off the deck for a guided paddle through the mangroves. Then a snorkel stop, then the sail home. Wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks are on board; the premium 6.5-hour version adds a buffet lunch.
All ages, masks and fins provided, wetsuits in winter. Twenty guests maximum on a boat certified for more.

Reviews
Reviewers name the crew, notice that 20 guests on a schooner feels semi-private compared with the catamarans, and rate the wine and charcuterie well above the usual sunset-sail fare. Day-trippers talk about the mangrove kayaking and the wildlife.
