The captain
Mr. Nice Guy
Jeffrey Lapierre started fishing commercially out of Massachusetts as a way through college, bluefin tuna and lobster, and came to the Keys in the 2000s for water that fishes all year. He has captained for more than twenty years and set up Nice Guy Charters in 2018. Reviews are about patience: with kids, with first-timers, with a group that wants to fish for two hours and float for two.
The boat is a 24-foot Everglades center console with a 300-horsepower Suzuki, a livewell and a trolling motor, out of Cow Key Marina on Stock Island. Rods, tackle, live bait, licenses, fillet service and cold drinks are included on fishing trips; bring sandwiches.
