Key West native and a working freediver who dives to 120 feet. Dane runs trips on the Goat and films a lot of what happens on the water. He's also the partner behind Walk The Plank Adventures.

The public trip

A day on the Goat

  1. Check in at the Galleon dock

    619 Front Street, with free parking behind the boat. Bring food, drinks, a hat and sunblock.

  2. Lines off

    The boat leaves on time and does not wait. Miss it and the crew will try to move you to another day.

  3. Fish with the crew

    Rods, reels, bait and your fishing license are included. The mates bait your hook and help you land what bites.

  4. Back at the dock

    The crew fillets and bags your catch while you're still on the dock.

  5. Cook your catch

    Several Key West restaurants will cook the fish you bring in. Ask the crew for names.

Where does the Salty Goat leave from?

The Galleon Marina dock at 619 Front Street in downtown Key West. Check in at 8:30 am. There is free parking behind the boat.

What should I bring?

Food and drinks, a hat, sunblock, comfortable shoes, a camera, and cash for the mates' tip. Bait, tackle, rods and your fishing license are provided.

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

Yes. The Salty Goat has a head aboard.

Can I keep the fish I catch?

Yes, within Florida's size and season limits. The crew fillets and bags your keepers at the dock, and several local restaurants will cook them for you.

Is it good for kids?

Yes. Kids 12 and under ride for $70, and the mates help beginners bait, cast and reel.

What is the cancellation policy?

Public trips get a full refund with 24 hours' notice, or if the captain cancels for weather. No-shows pay in full. For a private charter, the deposit is not refunded if you cancel inside 7 days.
